SWAT is a competitive swim team serving swimmers in the south Salt Lake Valley. SWAT provides year round coaching to swimmers of all different ages. SWAT swimmers also learn team work, commitment, time management and develop friendships that last a life time.

Fee Reminder

The monthly fee for SWAT as gone up beginning in January 2012. The fee is now $40/month. Don't forget, monthly fees are due by the fifth of the month and meet fees are due when signing up for the meet. Meet fees are not refundable. SWAT still needs to pay for all entries whether or not your swimmer swims in the meet.

Park City Meet

The Park City Lights Out Invite is February 24-25 in Park City.  The link to the meet is below.  Warm ups are at 4:00 pm on Friday, February 24th with the meet starting at 5:00 pm.  Warm ups for the second half of the meet start on Saturday morning, February 25th at 8:00 am with the meet starting at 9:00 am.  Swimmers can enter up to six events total with no more than three events per day.  Your child must have an established time in the event they want to swim as "no times" are not accepted. 
 
Please email Andee at coachandee@gmail.com by this Wednesday, January 25th, with what events your child would like to swim. Payment for this meet is also due by Wednesday, January 25th and can be calculated as follows:
 
Meet Surcharge is $10.00, SWAT Coaches fees are $3.00 and each event is $3.00

Park City Meet Information

Carpools Available

For those who may have trouble getting to practice, there are carpools going to the Taylorsville pool from all over the South Jordan area. Please contact Doug Tonge if you are interested in joining a carpool at 801-580-4618.

Swimmers Wanted

SWAT is looking for a few good swimmers. Now that the high school swimming has started the pool at Taylorsville High is looking kind of empty. This is an excellent opportunity for great coaching at a very competitive price.  Please tell you friends and neighbors. We are accepting swimmers from all localities in the area.

Meet Fees

All meet fees are due when you sign up for the meet. SWAT meet fees are not covered by the high school swimming fees. Meet fees are currently due for all those who have swam and/or signed up for meets this summer. The following links  summarize the fees that are due for each swimmer. Please take a  moment to look and make sure your swimmers is up to date with their payments. Please add a $3.00 dollar coaches' fee to the total shown in the links below.

In an effort to provide up to date information to each of our swimmers and their families  we are asking for parents and swimmers to take a moment and fill out the following form.  This will allow SWAT to provide accurate information to all our swimmers and families. If you haven't already filled out the contact information sheet for your swimmer please take a moment and print up the form and bring back the filled out form to practice.

We have been made aware of a new source of information for best times of our swimmers.  This site is done on a volunteer basis, but seems to be fairly accurate and up to date.  Take some time to explore the link below

Practice Suits Available

You may now purchase one of the extra team swim suits that were used by the Bingham Swim team in past years.  Coach Andee has both girls suits and jammers available in a variety of sizes. Girls suits are $20 and jammers are $15.  Talk to Coach Andee if you are interested. 
 

 Meet Pictures

SWAT now has a shutterfly site to upload and view pictures of meets. The link is www.Southwestaquaticteam.shutterfly.com There is a password associated with the site. Contact SWAT and we will e-mail you the password.

What time and where do I need to go to try out?

SWAT is currently practicing at Taylorsville High School from 5:00 to  6:30 p.m.(See Calendar Page)
Tryouts are Monday or Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. No appointment necessary - see Coach Andee at the pool.

What equipment do I need to have?

You will need swim goggles, workout swim suit (e.g. jammers for boys), and cap (optional). Girls no bobby pins please.

What does it cost to be part of the swim team?

There is a Annual Registration fee of $60.00. This fee registers the swimmer with USA Swimming and provides the necessary insurance for the swimmer to participate in USA Swimming sanctioned events.
There is a SWAT monthly fee of $40.00 per swimmer. This fee pays for the pool time at Taylorsville High School and for coaching, and an annual team fee of $20. Meet fees are paid separately.

 

Payment Options

There are several ways to pay your team fees and meet fees.

1. You can send a check with your swimmer. They can give it to Coach Andee, Kyle, Chris Wightman, or Doug Tonge

2. You can set up direct pay with your bank. All checks are made out to SWAT and sent c/o Chris Westra, 2319 Jordan Haven Court, South Jordan, UT 84095
